Hooray for the Red, White and Blue

It's time to celebrate our independence by going to parades, watching fireworks, and enjoying time with friends and families.

When we were vacationing in North Dakota with our family over the holidays, we spent the 4th hiking and that evening we were in Custer City, North Dakota enjoying the fireworks.

Now, here in Murray, KY, we will go to the local parade on the 4th where my grandson will walk with the cub scouts. The rest of us will cheer him on!

Hooray for the red, white, and blue.

After the parade, we'll return home for lunch with the family. The peninsula in the kitchen is set for the occasion with our patriotic red, white, and blue stack of dishes and decor.

For lunch, we'll have cheeseburgers with heirloom tomatoes, and hot dogs from the grill. The sides will include roasted corn salad and balsamic tortellini pasta salad.

We may retreat to the deck where pots are filled with red, white and blue flowers.

On the deck, we can enjoy a summer favorite, a plate full of red delicious watermelon.

Thanks for joining me for Hooray for the Red, White, and Blue - Judy.

  1. I enjoyed reading/seeing what you have planned to celebrate on the 4th. It will be fun to watch your grandson in a parade especially knowing you are coming home to eat at that beautifully patriotic peninsula-scape! Again, another great design using the space wonderfully. You have some great dishes/accessories that fit the theme perfectly. And yum, burgers and salad... Enjoy!

  2. I love all your patriotic decorations! We will be in Oregon for the 4th this year, so my decorations are limited. I would love the recipe for your roasted corn salad-maybe I'll check Pinterest. Hope you have a fabulous family celebration!

  3. What a whimsical and fun setting. Love your plate stack. I really enjoyed your writing and descriptions. Have a great week.

  4. Judy,
Everything looks Celebration ready, dear friend!
Glad to hear your grandson is in the Cub Scouts parading on the Fourth of July!
Enjoy your time with family. . .savor the moments!
    Happy Fourth of July!

  5. Your vacation out west sounds like it was fun. I haven't been out west in too long. Love your patriotic barscape. The menu looks and sounds delicious. I need to get some watermelon- that sounds so good right now! Have a Happy 4th!

  6. Sounds like you're having a great holiday, Judy!! Love the decorations you're using :)
