At the Feeders and in the Trees #48

Our temperature dropped to 22 degrees last night and this morning the temperature was 23. I made sure I filled the feeders off of our deck yesterday and boy did the birds appreciate it this morning after the freezing rain and sleet we received last night.

I am so fortunate to have the gorgeous Northern Cardinals in my area and love when they come to the feeders. What is there not to love about these stunning birds!

Other birds visited the feeders too. You can see Downy Woodpeckers, house finches, and a mockingbird in the pics below.

Love this collage with two cardinals in flight.

I am fascinated trying to get pics with the birds spreading their wings and in flight.

It takes a lot of pictures to capture a few good ones.

Many of our feathered friends are depending on us, so I hope you are able to keep your feeders filled! Take care and happy birding - Judy.

At the Feeders and in the Trees #47

When the snow falls, so many of the songbirds and yardbirds are searching for food. My feeders have provided lots of food on these recent snowy, bitterly cold days.

Sharing the Food

At the feeders, there are House Finches, Chickadees, Cardinals, Gold Finches, and Nuthatches sharing the Safflower seeds.

In the Trees

The female Northern Cardinal looks gorgeous against the bark of our River Birch Trees.

The Chickadee is a frequent visitor.

Birds in the Trees: Northern Mockingbird, Cardinals, Finches, and Mourning Dove.

Other Birds in the Trees: Downey Woodpecker, Carolina Wren, and female Cardinal.

Spreading their Wings

It's always fun capturing birds spreading their wings. I take tons of pics to get a few like these.

That's it for this time. Thanks for stopping by - Judy.
