Patriotism - My Style

With Independance Day just around the corner, I wanted to review a little of my patriotic style from the past.

This red, white and blue tablescape featured a rustic centerpiece with a wooden star and a crate full of fresh red geraniums with a Peggy Karr Glass flag bowl.

The sideboard at the end of the table had a basket filled with more geraniums and lots of sparkles for the fourth of July.

Patriotism was also shown throughout the house with Pottery Barn pillows on a white couch. This look was such a favorite in blogland.

The pillows really pop on the couch.

A trayscape featured red, white and blue dinnerware and decor.

I hope you are making plans to celebrate July 4th and show your patriotic style - Judy.

Great Smoky Mountains - Chimney Tops

My husband and I took a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains near Gatlinburg, TN, recently. Today, I am sharing a few pictures of the Chimney Tops which is a mountain in the central part of the Smokys.

The mountain has an elevations of 4724 feet. Chimney Tops is a popular hiking destination.

The picture below shows a look at part of Gatlinburg from the Chimney top area.

I'll share look pictures from the Smokys next time - Judy.

Fresh Summer Garden Salad and Dessert

There's nothing much tastier than a fresh summer garden salad.

Plus it is so easy to toss it together.

Red bell peppers.

Nice red tomatoes.

A few slices of cucumbers.

Green onions (if you like them). A squeeze of fresh lemons.

Toss with your favorite dressing or serve the dressing on the side.

There you have it, an easy fresh summer salad.

Now add an easy cherry cheese cake dessert and we are ready to eat.

Enjoy your summer salads  - Judy.
