Easter Dining

I've been helping my daughter design her Easter dining table. It is set for the occasion and features a whimsical yet elegant table. Take a look at her giant Easter rabbit that is front and center and looks like he could take a huge leap right off the table. He came from Nell Hill's in Kansas City.

What a guy to have such prestige at the table!

Although the Bible makes no mention of a long-eared, short-tailed creature who delivers decorated eggs to well-behaved children on Easter Sunday, the Easter bunny has become a prominent symbol of Christianity’s most important holiday.

He's hopping right over the Easter egg wreath used as a centerpiece. The grapevine wreath has yellow and green eggs with purple flowers and came from Pier 1. You can see additional pieces of this collection used here on my Easter Naturals Tablescape.

Elegant and whimsy meet at each place setting when elegant Lenox Eternal Gold meets casual burlap bunny-ear napkin rings from Pier 1. She is using burlap fabric for her table runner and has used the burlap on so many occasions as seen in the Fall here, and here, and even at Christmas here.

The bunny ear napkin rings hold Fresco Paisley Pottery Barn napkins. They are muted colors of a blue/gray, brown and a little yellow.

Next to the napkins are fun Easter cupcakes with Wilton picket fence cupcake wraps from Michaels. Click here for a link to my Easter cupcake decorating project.

Each cupcake was iced with green icing then topped with additional green grass using a Wilton grass tip. The little bunnies are Icing Decorations by Wilton also purchased at Michaels. The jelly beans were added for fun and color. Who doesn't like to eat a jelly bean or two!

Lenox Eternal Gold flatware and stemware bring a little added elegance to this Easter table. We placed an ivory napkin under the forks.

An extra plate of goodies is ready for her guests. Decorated shortbread cookies with lemon icing from Panera Bread, yellow rabbit Peeps, and  more cupcakes should keep everyone happy.

The little bird on the right behind the napkin is peeking her head up for a look at the plate of goodies.

No candles needed for the candle sticks, just a few eggs on top.
Happy Easter to all of you as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ -   Judy.
