Easter Cupcakes

I have kind of been trying to improve my cupcake decorating skills. Today I am working on Easter cupcakes. It has to be easy and fairly simple!

Adding grass to my cupcakes is my main objective in this process. I am using a Wilton grass tip.

I was determined to get the hang of it and discovered it was all in how much icing and pressure I was applying. This one looks too much like a star so I need to apply less pressure and pull the tip a little to get the glassy look.

Too much pressure and too much icing and my grass looked so not like grass. So take it easy on the pressure!

I jazzed the cupcakes up with Wilton cupcake wrappers and Icing Decorations.

Now maybe no one will notice they aren't perfect and will eat them quickly! A few jelly beans make it colorful.

Add a few Peeps to the plate . . .

and some Decorated cookies from Panera Bread.

I'm going to replate them on Lenox Eternal Gold china and now they even take on a look of elegance. I'm adding them to an Easter tablescape that I'll show you soon.

Thanks for stopping in to see another attempt by me at cupcake decorating. - Judy.

  1. Judy, your cupcakes make me smile--and I'm hungry, too! I didn't know that Wilton made a grass tip, so I'll put it on my list. This is such a GREAT Foodie Friday recipe!

  2. I think you did a terrific job with the 'grass'! I am not a baker so have no idea how hard that type of thing is but they look great to me - love how you finished them off with the bunny and jelly beans and cupcake papers.

  10. Too cute! I enjoy cute decorated cookies and cupcakes but I usually buy them at a local bakery because I don't have too much talent in this department! Those cupcake wrappers are the cutest.

  11. They are so cute! I got the same decorations but colored the frosting to match the jelly beans -- much cuter with "grass" and more jelly beans! I'll have to do that for the next batch! But our store doesn't carry that clever fence wrapper. That makes it perfect!
