Our Patriotic Porch

It's the time of year that we celebrate our traditions. We bring out our red, white, and blue and show that we are proud to be Americans.

I'm displaying a small patriotic quilt that I made for my front porch.

My begonias are adding to the patriotism with their beautiful red blooms and a small American flag.

The huge macho fern looks fabulous next to the begonias and flag.

My roses to the right of the front porch, are flourishing with beautiful red flowers. I found a surprise in my roses this week, a nest filled with four blue robin eggs.

Have you tried "Diamond Frost" euphorbia? This delicate white plant was my very favorite new plant last year so I'm buying it again this year. I have it in with cabaret bright red calibrachoa (Million Bells). The calibrachoa is another favorite. It is a prolific bloomer and produces 1-inch blooms and attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.

My daughter gave me a dark red geranium for Mother's Day and I have just gotten it repotted for the front porch. They are such a classic beauty, I think we all love their green foliage and deep red flowers.

I'm so thankful that my quilt is finished, and my flowers are blooming.

Our back deck is also dressed in an Americana bunting and pots filled with patriotic colors.

I would love to hear how you show your patriotism - Judy.

Stars and Stripes Forever - Celebrating Freedom

At our house, we are all about celebrating freedom. Keeping our country free. We believe in the Star and Stripes Forever.

For this special holiday, I have created a patriotic tablescape to celebrate our freedom.

I'm using American flag placemats from Kohl's with a navy and white paisley tablecloth.

My stack of dishes includes red plates, navy blue salad plates, and a red bowl. I love the patriotic napkins (Pottery Barn) folded in half and placed in the bowl.

The red goblets were a gift from my Dad years ago.

Flatware is Laurie Gates by Hampton - Sizzle Ivory.

The centerpiece for the table is a red bowl filled with vining red geraniums.

Antique mercury glass pillar holders from Pottery Barn were added to each end of the geraniums. Then red flameless pillar candles topped each pillar.

In some of my other posts, you have seen how my husband loves to grill. So, of course, he has been busy getting the pork butts ready for our celebration. Ya gotta love a "man who cooks."

One of the desserts we are having are individual mixed berry tarts I made with fresh fruit. I did have whipped topping to add for those who wanted it. I found the dessert on Pinterest here

The heart shaped flag plate is by Peggy Karr Glass.

I hope you enjoy this special day with your family and friends.

Thanks for stopping in as we celebrate freedom - Judy.

Patriotism - My Style

With Independance Day just around the corner, I wanted to review a little of my patriotic style from the past.

This red, white and blue tablescape featured a rustic centerpiece with a wooden star and a crate full of fresh red geraniums with a Peggy Karr Glass flag bowl.

The sideboard at the end of the table had a basket filled with more geraniums and lots of sparkles for the fourth of July.

Patriotism was also shown throughout the house with Pottery Barn pillows on a white couch. This look was such a favorite in blogland.

The pillows really pop on the couch.

A trayscape featured red, white and blue dinnerware and decor.

I hope you are making plans to celebrate July 4th and show your patriotic style - Judy.
