Yosemite Falls is the highest measured water in North America and is located in the Sierra Nevada of California. It is also one of the world's tallest, and is made up of three separate falls: Upper Yosemite Fall (1430 feet), the Middle Cascades (675 feet), and Lower Yosemite Fall (320). In the picture below, you can see the upper fall and the lower fall.
We were able to hike to the lower fall. The path to the upper fall was closed for winter. My husband and I on the path leading to the lower fall. Do I look cold? I was freezing. I have four layers of clothing on under that red jacket.
The walk to the lower fall was fairy easy but very icy.
This shot is as close as we could get to the lower fall. That my husband, me, son-in-law, and grandson in the picture, our daughter is taking the picture.
Once last view of the lower fall in Yosemite.
The lower fall is located near the Yosemite Lodge in Yosemite Valley. Thanks for stopping by to see Yosemite Falls in Winter - Judy.

ReplyDeleteDid you enter the park area going through Mariposa or did you go in on the other side of Oakhurst? It really is beautiful country! I'll be there next month. Winter in the park looks amazing and you are showing some wonderful photos! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, Yosemite falls looks beautiful in the winter. Gorgeous photos. I have climbed the trail to the upper falls and I can see why they would close it in the winter. Wonderful post. Have a great week!

ReplyDeleteI visited Yosemite two years ago in the fall, so the falls were just a trickle. I loved seeing them here in full flow! It is my dream to re visit Yellowstone National Park in winter one year.
ReplyDeleteWow, how beautiful!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing.
The second last shot with you all in the foreground gives you a good idea of the height of these falls!
ReplyDeleteThanks, that's what I was hoping everyone would notice.
DeleteYosemite Falls is on my "bucket list" any season. Jeepers you are brave to go in the Winter. How peaceful this trip must have been.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty~
We go there almost every summer, for me to paint, and hubby to hike! The sights are awesome in winter, but it's just too cold for me:)
ReplyDeleteStunning...very, very stunning. A bit on the cold, blustery side for me...[I'm a wuss when it comes to cold and winter]....but, still, gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMy Wednesday post: UNDER THE SEA
Yosemite is one of a handful of parks that my heart still desires to visit one day...one day. The images are absolutely stunning...thank you~

ReplyDeleteI'm more than happy to tell you, I'm now YOUR newest follower. Thanks for your visit and your encouragement by following me and my postings.
I was there last summer. Neat to see it this time of year
ReplyDeleteThose are fascinating photos of a famous landmark. I am sure you oldies feel great, but i pity the young one still in the crib, i am sure it felt so cold and doesn't yet appreciate the falls. Oh i just wish for it to stay inside the house and cuddle in the warmer confines of its bed, LOL.
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous pictures, so surreal.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing them with us at WIW.
Love partying with you.
See you next week!
