I've been hearing a Wren singing when I go out on the deck and today, I got lucky. A cute tiny House Wren let me snap some pics.
The pics didn't come easy, I had to work to get the pics in this post. While I was outside working in my flower bed and pots, . . .
A couple birdhouses are hanging on a trellis near my back steps. The other day, I caught a glimpse of a bird going in one of the houses.
Parked in our Polaris Ranger for about 40 minutes and trying not to move an inch, I caught a movement of the House Wren sitting on a branch near the bird houses.
The wren wouldn't go in the house at first. She took off, then in a while, I could hear her singing again.
It took another 15 minutes or so and which one of the houses do you think the wren landed on? Look closely!
Do you see the wren, look on the right side?
Checking around to make sure it was safe; the wren hops over to the house on the left.
Still checking before entering the birdhouse. Several glances around then in the wren goes.
The wren didn't stay in the house long. Suddenly the wren's stuck its head out of the house.
Out, then up on top of the house and a couple of hops around on the roof.
Then in the blink of an eye, the House Wren was gone.
I hope to get more pics of the House Wren in the days to come. I'll keep you posted. - Judy.

It's amazing that you were able to get such great photos of the little wren because they move so fast! You are blessed to have so many avian visitors! - Briana from Texas
ReplyDeleteThanks, Briana, for your visit. You are exactly right; the wren was very quick. I had to sit still for so long to capture these pics.
DeleteIt’s adorable!
ReplyDeleteamazing photos but I'm really jealous of the songs you hear from the wren - sounds like heaven
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a sweet sound.
DeleteThis is an awesome list of parties! Thanks for sharing and including Funtastic Friday, too! Love the photos of the wren and birdhouses--we had a house wren build a nest in a wreath on our front porch one year. We blocked the steps off and had people use a side door so as not to disturb the little ones and mom.
ReplyDeleteIt's so much fun to watch birds nesting. We have a pair of tree swallows in our birdhouse right now. I can hear the babies cheep when mom and dad come to feed them. - Margy
