Wordless Wednesday - Mercury Lamp

Weeping Wall

The Weeping Wall is located in Glacier National Park in Montana. If you are not familiar with the wall, is a geological formation along Going-to-the-Sun Road in the park. It is a natural  waterfall that seeps out from the side of the Garden Wall, and is fed by runoff from snow melt. The water runs across the road and you drive through it.

Thanks for stopping by, I am posting to Watery Wednesday.

Mirrored Chest

Mirrored furniture always make a bold design statement. This chest is sitting in my daughter's entry and is dressed with a white poinsettia, a mercury glass lamp, mercury glass urn with chartreuse ornaments and a glass candlestick. It is really making a statement!!

All of the pieces came from Nell Hill's in Kansas City, MO. The chartreuse ornaments were from Hobby Lobby.

The white poinsettia is such a beautiful plant to decorate with at Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by and may your Christmas be filled with the love and joy of family - Judy

White Poinsettia

Poinsettias are such a Christmas tradition that we love to decorate with. This fresh white poinsettia is sitting in my daughter's entry.

Don't let your poinsettia end up in the trash, check out this link  and getting it to bloom next year.  Thanks for stopping by - Judy.

P.S.
If you are interested in the table that the poinsettia is sitting on, I will have a post on Wow Us Wednesday that features the table.

Getting Ready for Christmas

I have been decorating my house all weekend and getting close to done. It is always so exciting to get out the Christmas stuff and start decorating. On my server, I have a small vignette.

The Santa is Winter Holiday Santa by Fitz and Floyd. I love the detail in it, Santa is surrounded by foxes, rabbits, polar bears. Then his bag is filled with lot of toys and a ginger bread house.

The platter is a holiday pattern of ivy and berries by Lenox.

The iridescent silky runner has a blueish green tint to the color.

Thanks for stopping to see the start of my Christmas decor. - Judy

Time to Set Up My Coffee Corner Again

I have so many pieces and groups of Fitz and Floyd to decorate with for Christmas, but one favorite (Snowy Woods) always comes to mind. I think it's time to start thinking about the Christmas Coffee Corner again. Here's a look at my vignette that I use for my Coffee Corner.

Hope you have finished your decorating and are ready to relax with a cup of coffee. Thanks for stopping by - Judy

Japanese Maple

This Japanese Maple is just gorgeous right now. With the sun shinning on it you really notice it's ribbonlike leaves and their burgundy wine color. Some leaves seem bronzy and some greenish or a little yellow.

The deeply divided lacy leaves on the branches look so delicate. This Japanese Maple seems wider than tall.

I wished it lived in my yard but it is in my daughter's yard.

Homer, Alaska - Beach

When we visited Homer, Alaska, the rocky beach and the blue water were just beautiful. Then there were the blue mountains in the background that were just breathtaking. We enjoyed walking along the beach when the tide was out.

The water was too cold to swim but throwing rocks was fun for my grandson.

Thanksgiving with Pilgrims and Burlap

The Thanksgiving table is ready with the pilgrims standing tall.

You have seen parts of this tablescape but some things have been removed or changed and new items have been added. We are using the burlap as seen in Burlap and Candlesticks but have added the Pilgrims and corn cobs.

The pilgrims were purchased several years ago from Hobby Lobby.

The china has been changed to Lenox Eternal with its signature ivory color and gold trim for the dinner plate. The salad plate is Lenox Holiday Tartan.

The flatware is Lenox Eternal Gold.

The stemware is also Lenox Eternal Gold. Oops, I'll get that soup spoon moved to the correct spot before we eat.

Thanks for stopping by my Thanksgiving with Pilgrams and Burlap. - Judy

Thanksgiving Past - A Simple Tablescape

This post is an old Thanksgiving table setting from 2008. It was simple yet we had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My Dad was able to be with us that year plus our daughter and family.

The turkey candle holders are Fitz and Floyd and the candle is made like a corn cob but really burns. It was a gift from my friend, JoAnn, @ josthisandthat@blogspot.com

The ceramic pilgrims were made by my Mom before she passed away. The red bowl and ginger jar are from my Fitz & Floyd pattern, Sang De Boeuf.

Trout Fishing in Missouri

My husband and I like to trout fish and this was a trip not too far from our home. The outing was to Bennett Spring State Park and it was a chilly foggy morning. I really wasn't wanting to wade in the water that morning so I mostly took pictures of him fishing. The fog on the water made a perfect sitting and these turned out to be my favorite fishing pictures. We have fished all over the United States but I love these Missouri pictures.

The block building in the picture didn't seem to be used for anything currently but sure added to the scenery.

Fall Vignette with Sang De Boeuf

In this Fall vignette, I started by using a Thanksgiving tea towel to ground my vignette, then added my large red vase from the Fitz & Floyd pattern, Sang De Boeuf. Next the Fall flowers were added, several different flowers bunches were used in the arrangement.

The small ginger jar from the same F&F Pattern was added to the vignette. I have several pieces of this pattern and love the red color and find myself using many of the pieces for several seasons. This vase works well for Fall and Winter.

My server also has a lamp that looks like my Fitz and Floyd pieces but it not. I found it several years ago at shop in Osage Beach, MO, The colors in the dried fruit pieces seemed to really go with the colors of the arrangement so I scattered them on the table. I used a small crystal bowl to hold a few pieces of the fruit.

I also used the Leaves plates by Peggy Karr Glass. You may have been the plate a couple of months ago in my post, Fall Luncheon.

Thanks for stopping by to see my Fall Vignette with Sang De Boeuf.
