Our Thanksgiving Table for Six

We are keeping our Thanksgiving Table for 2020 small and private in order to comply with Covid restrictions.

We are very grateful for our family and cherish our time together. Although we are not all here gathering around the table, we are here in thought.

The small ceramic turkey on the table is one my Mom made in the 70's and holds a special place in my heart.

From our table to yours, Happy Thanksgiving - Judy.

So Thankful - Our Thanksgiving Table

Welcome to our Thanksgiving Table. Join us as we are reminded of all that we have to be thankful.

Whether it is something small or something huge, our hearts are full as we sat down to our Thanksgiving table.

My table inspiration came from the fabric I used to make the napkins. I was so surprised when I found the fabric and it had touches of aqua. Yay, that meant I could use fall colors plus my aqua dishes.

My table began with a wooden tray filled with pumpkins, pine cones, gourds, leaves and berries.

These surround a glowing candle.

The tray is grounded by a table runner that I finished quilting over the weekend.

Thanksgiving is such a special time for family and friends to get together, enjoy the day, share current stories and those from the past.

For me, I am reminded of my Dad going quail hunting on Thanksgiving morning while my Mom, my sister, and I prepared our meal. One of my tasks as a young girl was to toast the bread for the dressing. I thought that was so important and then cracking the eggs for the dressing too.

I am sure you must have memories of Thanksgiving that bring a smile to your face.

Two patterns of stemware are used on the table.

I am thankful for my family and the many wonderful memories and blessings we have shared over the years.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have time to tell me something from Thanksgiving that is important to you - Judy.

Thanksgiving in Blues and Grays

The big Thursday is just about a week away.  For today, I have set a table in light blues and grays giving the traditional oranges and browns a little rest. It never hurts to try something new!

I do love to decorate with pastel colors in my house, so why not set a Thanksgiving table featuring these light colors.

I bet you saw these plates at Pier 1 earlier in the season. I bought six then tried to buy a few more a little later but they were sold out. Glad I jumped on buying them as soon as I saw them. Love the blueish gray pumpkin on the plate design.

For the table centerpiece, dried limelight hydrangeas and little limelights from my  gardens were used.

I simply cut the blooms in late September; placed them in a vase with just a little water. I try not to touch them since I'm sure they might crumble.

Flatware for the table is Laurie Gates - Sizzle in Oyster Gray.

The stemware is Fostoria Heritage which belonged to my Mom.

You might be wondering about my mini pumpkins. I grew two plants of them in my tiny vegetable garden. Some of the pumpkins were white and some had orange and white stripes. A little gray paint was added to the striped ones just to go with this blue and gray tablescape.

The leaves were cut using a Tim Holtz die and my Sizzix Die Cutting Machine.

If you are waiting a table that is casual and not too formal, this look might be just for you. It could be used for a Thanksgiving breakfast or Thanksgiving evening and a formal table for the main meal. The choice is yours.

The placemats and napkins are also Pier 1.

Thanks for stopping by for my Thanksgiving in Blues and Grays - Judy.

Gather Here With A Grateful Heart - A Thanksgiving Tablescape

Soon we will gather around our tables to celebrate Thanksgiving here in USA. We will give thanks and celebrate the day with family and friends.

Turkeys will be cooking in our ovens and wonderful aromas will fill our homes. Tables will be set, whether elegant or simple, it won't matter, for it is the gathering of grateful hearts that makes this day so special.

As you scroll down the page, I hope you will reflect on what you are grateful for.

I know you are planning your menus and gathering your dishes as all good bloggers do.

From the words of George Washington . . . "that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country . . . "

Thanks for stopping by for another day of Life in Kentucky - Judy.

Blessings of Thanksgiving Tablescape

Thanksgiving is here and it's a special time to count your blessings.

As I share this Thanksgiving table with you, I'll also share a few Thanksgiving prayers that can be said at your table.

Thank You, God
For the food we are about to eat,
For those who are here
To share these blessings,
For the generosity of our hosts
That make this possible.
Bless those who are here
And those who are in our hearts,
And all those who are not
As fortunate on this day.

Amen.

from here

As we bow our heads to pray, we give thanks to you God, for this Thanksgiving Day.

We thank ou Father, for our families, friends, and for all the blessings, both big and small, that you pour out on us each day.

We give thanks to you for this wonderful time together, and for each one present here today.

Amen.

from here

We thank you for the turkey,
the Gravy and the dressing.
Dear Lord, this table overflows
With Thy abundant blessing.

Let us always be aware
That all gifts come from You,
And may we serve Your heavenly will
In everything we do. Amen.

from here

Dear Lord,
As we gather together around this table
laden with your plentiful gifts to us,
we thank You for always providing
what we really need
and for sometimes granting wishes
for things we don't really need.
Today, let us be especially thankful
for each other - for family and friends
who enrich our lives in wonderful ways,
even when they present us with challenges
Let us join together now
in peaceful, loving fellowship
to celebrate Your love for us
and our love for each other. Amend

from here

Prayers that kids could say:

Lord, we thank you this Thanksgiving,
For the food we eat and the lives we're living. Amen.

Lord, we pray You'll bless this food,
As we eat it now in gratitude. Amen.

We thank You, God, for the food we eat;
We thank you for our lives so sweet. Amen.

from here

I hope you are okay with me giving some possible prayers for your table. Sometimes people are looking for a prayer to say so I hope this gives a little help.

Thanks for stopping by for another day for Life in Kentucky - Judy.
