At the Feeders and in the Trees - Week 25

My feeders are have been busy whether it is rain or sunshine.

The Northern Cardinal is always a treat to watch. The cardinal and the house finch are eating safflower seeds.

Not a great shot, but I was happy to catch the cardinal in flight.

The Purple Finch is still visiting the feeders. I'm thrilled to get a chance to capture a few more pics of him.

The female Purple Finch eating on a mealworm cake. Notice her distinct white eyebrow.

The Carolina Wrens have such a warm rusty-brown head and back. Their chest and belly is a orange yellow color.

I'm always thankful that I get so many visitors at my feeders and in the trees.

The Carolina Chickadee is such a cute little bird with his black cap and chin.

I hope you enjoy the birds as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by - Judy.

  3. Judy, I misspelled your name in my first comment and deleted it. I am sorry about it.
    These are fantastic photographs!
The Northern Cardinal is a beautiful bird. The Purple Finch is so lovely. I have never seen this bird before.
And all birds are so close in your photos. Amazing!
    Greeting from Utah.

  4. A great suite of birds at your feeders. The Purple Finch is especially interesting. I think of it as a more northerly species but it obviously migrates as far south as your area. I have not seen one yet this year.

  5. Gorgeous winter red birds..brown ones and that sweet black & white.

  6. Oh yes I really enjoy watching my birds also. I have cardinals and chickadee's for sure lots big black birds coming over to feed.
Love your pictures especially the flying cardinal.
I seen my first robin this year this week

  8. Isn't that purple finch colorful! WOW! And we love hearing a little wren singing...they are so loud! Enjoy your week!

  9. Yes, I do enjoy seeing the birds. You do get some great shots. I love seeing them up close and personal. I think they are all beautiful, the cardinal which we have here. I don't see some of your others, the purple finch. I love the little chickadee and some years we get visits. Enjoy your weekend.......

  10. The Cardinal looks like he might be flying straight into your house....

  11. Wow - fabulous photos - capturing a bird in flight is magical. Love all the different birds you have there.

  12. Those Cardinals do make me smile; they just look so unlikely with that red colouration.

  13. Hello Judy, I love your gorgeous Cardinal photos. The wrens are adorable too. Cute birds and photos.
