Grilled Halibut and Salmon On The Menu

My husband has been cooking all afternoon and has the most beautiful food prepared. But you may have to like fish to think it is beautiful

Take a look then we can talk about the menu.

Here's a shot with the lettuce salad which is at the top of the image.

The fish has a bit of history to go with it. Both the halibut and salmon were caught by my husband last August when we were in Alaska on a vacation. My husband caught the fish on separate days and had the fish frozen and shipped back to us here in Missouri.

I had him dish his plate first since he cooked the meal and is a big eater so his plate is full. You can see the asparagus on the upper right of his plate followed by the mixed vegetables. The halibut is the white fish on the left and the salmon is just above the halibut. He used a lemon pepper salt on the fish and then squeezed fresh lemon on both.

We did keep the dessert pretty light with the fresh fruit and a whipped topping.
Thanks for stopping by - Judy.

  2. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

My oh my doesn't that look delicious!??

We're big fish eaters here - especially on fridays- haha - and so yum oh does that look tasty!

I think it is *especially* awesome he caught them himself - makes it that much more special.

I grew up on the north coast with water on 3 or my 4 sides, considered the Walleye Capital of the World - and freshly caught fish was part of my growing up years. I love Walleye and Lake Perch, yum yum. We don't have water here so we have to buy ours now.

Thanks for the pics - now we are going to eat! Your pics makde me hungry!!!!

  11. This plate of food looks good and since I had an early lunch and am already ready for dinner, I'd love to dig right into it. My Dad once went to Alaska and caught salmon. Seems we had it forever. Frozen and in cans. I bet your husband had fun catching it and probably enjoys his meal more since it was caught by him. Thanks for sharing with us at Your Cozy Home Party!

  12. Hi Judy!

I noticed how nice and bright that salmon was in the first picture... then I read that it was caught in Alaska! I love wild caught Salmon from the Northern Pacific Ocean. I also love Halibut! What a colorful, delicious and healthy dinner!

Thanks for sharing at my party this week.

  16. What a feast you enjoyed! Beautifully garnished too. Exciting to enjoy fish from your trip. We lived in Alaska for five years and the taste of fresh Alaskan fish is superb! The price per pound if you price it out expense wise is quite steep! Ha! Ha! Great pics too.
