Blooms in the Gardens

Today, I am thankful for the flowers blooming in my gardens. They make my heart just sing when I see them blooming.

I'm thrilled these orange daylilies bloomed. Last year I ordered several orange daylilies to plant and this year they are just beautiful.

I little pink zinnia.

Do you see the swallowtail butterfly on the purple coneflowers?

The next four pics are a different variety of zinnia. They may be Giant Cactus Zinnias. I ordered the seeds but can't remember for sure what they were called.

I had some issues with Japanese Beetles eating on the centers. Look closely and you can see the legs of the beetle just left of the center on a petal.

Thanks for stopping to see my blooms. Have a great day - Judy.

  1. Your garden blooms are lovely Judy. I especially love the color of the Lillies...........

  2. Those Cactus Zinnias are gorgeous, I will definitely try those next year...Happy Blooming! Sandi

  3. Make me smile! Happy Pink Saturday!

  4. Wow everything is so pretty! Love those giant zinnias especially the red!

  5. Pictures of flowers are lovely.

  6. You have so many beautiful flowers and I know the bees and butterflies love them all. Enjoy your week! It's gotten really HOT here this week! Hugs!

  7. Thanks for sharing your heart song. Beautiful flowers. I am #18 on the linky

  8. Gorgeous flowers! Zinnias are so pretty. This year I got as far as buying the seeds. Maybe next year, I'll put them in the ground. :-)

  9. Judy, you have some beautiful flowers! I think you asked how I froze my squash and I don't think I told you. So, here goes....I prefer younger squash that aren't too seedy in the middle. I cute them how I like. Sometimes in cubes, sometimes in long quarters. Then, I place a piece of parchment on a tray and place the squash on it, not touching each other. I put this tray in the freezer during the day and take it out at supper, in which time it is typically frozen. I bag it up and can take it out as needed, since each piece is frozen individually. I hope this helps.

  10. WOW! What gorgeous pics of your stunning garden flowers. The colors are eye popping!!!

Hope you are staying safe and well, Judy, and enjoying your gorgeous outdoor gardens and creatures great and small.

  11. Beautiful! We have sunflowers and zinnias! So pretty to look at!

  12. Judy - gorgeous blooms! I have a soft spot in my heart for zinnias since my Mom always had some in her garden during my childhood. I think I read somewhere that they are good to have in your garden to attract "bad" bugs such as aphids and Japanese beetles, keeping them away from more important plants! Thanks so much for linking to Mosaic Monday!

  13. These are just beautiful and I understand why you find such joy in them. Thanks for sharing this week at #HomeMattersParty

  14. Flowers make my heart sing too! Maybe not quite as many verses as you have, because now I can’t take credit for the beauty ...I no longer garden myself, but deeply admire other people’s. Yours are gorgeous ... and yes, I see the butterfly .

  15. Beautiful flowers. My mother used to have a time with Japanese beetles but bought some type of bag from Lowes and problem solved.

  17. Such enticing colours, your blooms are stunning. Shame about the beetles though, thank you for brightening up a gloomy grey day in England.
