Sometimes things just seem to fall into place. I really wasn't planning on making a tablescape with pink, green, and red for Valentine's Day, but as I said, "things just seem to fall into place."
It began when I bought some potted tulips and placed them on the kitchen counter along with a Valentine plate by Peggy Karr Glass Company. I was anxious for them to completely open their blooms. At that point, I had no further plans for the tulips other than to enjoy their beauty.
Last Friday, I began working on a table topper pattern that I thought would look sweet for Valentine's Day. I finished the topper on Tuesday and decided to use it in the kitchen. (size is 24 x 24 inches)
Now, this is when things just seemed to fall into place.
From there a pink, green and red tablescape evolved (fell into place).
The tulips were moved to the center of the tabletopper. Gosh, I didn't have any casual dishes in pink but I did have green plates, red salad plates, and pink napkins. These could be placed on pink textured placemats and the setting could tie in (fall in place) with the tabletopper.
The look is very casual, but perfect for my kitchen.
The pink stemware is Fostoria Heritage and the flatware is Lenox Eternal Gold.
Although I worked hard piecing and quilting the tabletopper, it is the tulips that steal the show with their beautiful cup-shaped flowers.

Judy, things fell into place beautifully! The combination of the pink, green, and red is so pretty! The tulips are definitely show stoppers, but your pieced table topper is so lovely and most special for Valentine’s Day!

Oh Judy, I love this! Your quilted table topper is gorgeous and how clever to use what you had to create such a pretty Valentine table! My daughter gave me some pinky red tulips and I immediately had to set a table and used pink and green too, but I certainly didn't have a beautiful quilt! Happy Valentine's Day!

Oh yes I must agree the Tulips and their natural beauty steal the show!
ReplyDeleteYou do have a gift!
ReplyDeleteI have a pot of tulips in my kitchen window that I'm experimenting with--we'll see if I can "force" them into blooming in February!
I love how your tablescape came together because of the tulips! Those a beautiful. Love fringed tulips and the two tones that yours have. Your quilted topper is lovely. Your dish combo with the napkins couldn’t have been more perfect! I trust you had a lovely Valentine’s Day!
ReplyDeleteThe table topper turned out just gorgeous! What a great pop of color during this dreary week. Just the color I needed. I am glad things came together, because your table rocks!
