Fall Kitchen "Scape" - beautiful fall colors

Are you dreaming of Fall or has fall arrived in your area? For me, I'm still dreaming, our heat index was 104 plus lots of humidity.

I'm featuring a fall "scape" on my peninsula in my kitchen today as I prepare for fall around the house.

Casual entertaining may be in store this evening with some friends who don't mind eating in the kitchen.

The peninsula is set for two but can easily seat four. I have additional place settings sitting on the hutch ready to add.

Does your eye go to the candle when you look at the image below?

Mine certainly does, candles do add a warm glow to the setting and this little acorn candle has a light fall scent.

Our kitchen is open to the family room. It makes transitioning smooth and easy. You can see the fireplace I white washed a couple of months ago, and you can read about it here

I made a change on the fireplace to a different centerpiece. I found a great lidded box in my fall pieces and made an arrangement with stems I already had. Nice and it was free.

Back in the kitchen, I'm using umber canisters and a special tea towel made by my friend, JoAnn.

Did you notice the great little speckled glass pumpkin used in the centerpiece? It has survived three moves!

There you have it.

Thanks for stopping by for another day of Life in Kentucky - Judy.

Well, I guess I will stop whining about MY high temps today after reading about yours! :)

  2. I enjoy having company at our kitchen table. It works when there are four or 6 and is cozy and easier than taking things farther into the dining room. Your tables cape is so pretty and surely looks like fall.

  3. Very beautiful Judy. I love the warmth that candles bring as well. I have a glass pumpkin like that, only mine is green. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  5. You're getting me all excited to get home from our cottage and start decorating for fall! I love your vignettes! But 104 degrees, NOT so much! It's finally suppose to cool down by this weekend and start feeling more like early fall.

  7. Very pretty and so fall inspiring. Like you, it has been hot here in North Carolina this week. Your tablescape makes me long for cooler days and crisp nights.

  8. Who wouldn't love sitting at the kitchen peninsula when it is decorated up so beautifully?!! Lucky company! Great dish stack combo and you've made the pretty centerpiece fit in perfectly again. I enjoyed seeing your lovely view to the living room and your fireplace. Having candles burning with fall decor is a must though in these parts, we do get the cozy feel from them whereas, it sounds like, you just get EXTRA heat! :( Hope it cools down for your soon.

  9. 104º!! That's awful especially for September. I didn't know it could be so hot in Kentucky. Your fall setting certainly creates an inviting place to sit and dine. Love the view to the family room. The fireplace bricks look wonderful whitewashed. Love the lighted cabinets - it makes for such a nice display area and I like the fall accents you've placed there.

  10. Judy,
Amazing Fall Kitchen Scape, dear friend!
I absolutely adore your mantel decor!
"Mr. Ed" and I aren't burning candles after the ordeal with our white Kitchen cabinets last year. I'm using diffusers and battery candles.
I do love the warm glow of the candles as night sets on much earlier these days!
The warm Autumnal hues are warm and inviting. Know your friends will enjoy their time with you and their meal!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  14. We're enjoying beautiful warm weather here in Normandy after a very rainy summer but I can't imagine how I would cope with 104!
Your autumnal table setting is lovely and a wonderful way to mark the changing of the seasons, despite the heat.
Thanks for sharing your decorating ideas with us for Mosaic Monday this week. P.S. The Savannah Girl looks very cute!
