The kitchen remodel continues and while we are waiting for the new cabinets to arrive, we have been getting new lighting installed by a local electrician here in Murray.
The kitchen lighting is poor, it had one ceiling light, two can lights over the peninsula, plus under counter lighting but it was still way too dark for me.
We had 8 can lights installed. You can just see one in the picture below, and more in the following picture.

In addition to the eight can lights, a new and modern style ceiling fan was installed by the electricians. I wanted to use a brushed nickel fan to go with the new kitchen appliances that will arrive soon.
The fan is the Lava 52" by Ellington. I looked through several lighting books at our Murray Supply Store to find a modern brushed nickel fan with brushed nickel blades. The blades do have a dark blade on the other side but I wanted the nickel finish to be exposed. You can see the dark blades in the small photo below.
The medallion is a 16" portfolio medallion that is often used with modern fixtures. We plan to have the medallion painted with the same white paint as the ceiling when the painter returns.
We are so happy to get the new lighting and fan. It makes such an improvement in the once dark kitchen.
