Looking out my window today, I had the pleasure of seeing a tufted titmouse. It was eating on a fruit berry nut and seed bell that I had hung out earlier and is a soft silvery gray above and white below.
It has a rusty or peach-colored wash down the flanks which is easily seen in picture below.
A black patch just above the bill makes the bird look snub-nosed.
They look large among the small birds because of their large head and eye, thick neck, and full bodies.
Their pointed crest and stout bill help identify them.
They are common visitors at feeders, backyard, and parks.
It will often carry a large seed to a perch and crack it with sharp whacks of its stout bill.
