Riding Around in the Ranger #1

With nice weather in our area today, we took our first ride of the season in our Ranger. We live a few miles from town and have lots of country roads to ride on and enjoy the beauty around us.

We saw a couple of horses close to the road.

I always enjoy seeing old barns around our county. 

We saw one cow while we were riding around.

Since our quarantine of 2020, most people aren't getting out much. We saw families sitting on their porches and they were happy to wave at us as we passed by.

Pink Saturday @ How Sweet the Sound

On Our Walk #2

The weather was great today with the temps reaching 80 degrees in our area. We decided to take another walk along our road (we live 7 miles from town and don't have to worry about coming in contact with others).

At the end of our driveway, I noticed some pink blooms in my front flower bed. I had completely forgot that I had planted pink creeping phlox last year. What a great way to start our walk. 

These sweet purple flowers were growing wild just outside that same flower bed. I think I'm going to move them inside the bed soon.

Wish this beautiful tulip tree was in my yard but I was thrilled to see it in full bloom. Think I'm going to add a tulip tree to my wish list. 

After we veered off our road and head down a country road to a creek we enjoy visiting, I noticed an old tree with a large split big enough for a critter to hide in. It looked like a good hiding place.

On the other side of the road, my husband noticed some wild mushrooms growing. It may be a morel mushroom but I don't know much about them. 

Wild violets are in bloom. Although they have a pretty purple bloom, I have to work really hard to keep them out of my flower beds.

On Our Walk

We live outside of the city limits in Murray, KY, and have been trying to take walks along our road and a couple of side roads. Today, I'm sharing the beautiful blooming cherry blossom trees. 

We don't come in contact with other people and very few cars pass us by. 

I hope these beautiful trees bring you a little joy today. 

On one of the side roads near us, we walk to the creek and stop to enjoy the sounds that the moving water makes as it falls over the rocks.

The Mantel and Hearth - Green Decor

My mantel has been completed this week and ready to share with you.

Last week I shared the hearth decked out in green decor but didn't have the mantel ready. You can see the hearth post here. 

On to the mantel now, I took a large wreath from my collection of wreaths, then added ranunculus roses, green shamrock wired ribbon plus a few pics of greenery. 

Sitting on the mantel are pieces of green and white to finish the look off.

I just loved my husband finding this checked shamrock in a box in his shop.

Adding birds to my decor always make me happy (I'm a bird watcher).

Time for Some Green Decor

It's March 1st and time to bring out some green decor. I started with two of my lanterns. They just need a little "switcheroo" from Valentine ribbon to Patty's Day green ribbon plus a couple of tweaks. Ivy was added in with the ribbon then green and white pip berries were placed inside the lantern with the candle. 

The lanterns are in place on the hearth of our fireplace. What do you think?

Next a couple of pillows were added on each side of the hearth.

The hearth decor is now ready.
