At the Lake - Ice in the Water

We don't go to the lake very often in winter but a few weeks ago, we made the short drive to Cypress Springs where we dock our boats.

The lake had lots of ice floating and it was very cold. It's always interesting to see the water at different times of the year. The water around the docks was frozen. We didn't step out on the ice to test the thickness.

Out boats are not in the water during the winter but hubs like to go and check on our dock. In a few more months, boating season will be gearing up here on Kentucky Lake. As always, we can't wait for warmer weather and a chance to be out on the lake.

We love the lake and are always looking for an opportunity to be on the water!

At the Feeders and In The Trees #52

It was nice to see a Brown Thrasher at my feeders. It was the first citing of him this year for me.

You just can't help noticing this guy's distinguishing markings: the yellow eye, long legs, long tail, long slightly curved bill and the dark streaks on his under parts.

Other visitors at the feeders included: Carolina Chickadee, White Breasted Nuthatch, Downey Woodpecker, House Finch, and Northern Cardinal.

Hope you have been enjoying watching the birds - Judy.
