Celebrating With A Liberty Blue Tablescape

What a way to celebrate our liberty! This gorgeous Liberty Blue dinnerware makes a huge statement for my patriotic table.

The dinner plate has a beautiful scene of Independence Hall.

We are making our plans to celebrate our independence on the 4th of July.

Patriotic colors are showing on my table with lots of red, white, and blue.

Our freedom is very fragile right now. I want to celebrate our independence with my family and friends.

The silverplate flatware on my table is the OLD COLONY pattern by 1847 Rogers Bros. part of the International Silver Co.

Celebrate your freedom!

Dining on the Porch #2 With Romance and Miss Liberty

How about a red and white dinner plate and a bit of whimsy on the porch for lunch.

This 10 inch red transferware dinner plate was made by J&G Meakin, of England and is from their Romantic England Series. The pattern is named Haddon Hall. I found this beautiful plate in an antique shop in Paris, TN.

Are you familiar with Lori Mitchell? She is an American Artist who sculpts whimsical character pieces and Lady Liberty is one of her designs. You can checkout other characters here

Adding Lady Liberty with the red transferware plate seems to give the setting a patriotic feel.

Lady Liberty's hand seems to be reaching out to a small vase of flowers from my gardens: red roses, yellow coreopsis, and pink zinnias.

Lady Liberty is about the size of the blue stemmed goblet.

The double napkins for the table are a blue one and a Celebrate napkin placed inside a silver napkin ring.

The fern in the background is a Kimberly Queen.

Dining on the Porch With Red, White, and Blue

Today, I'm using a small table on my porch that is set with red, white and blue.

With Independence Day just around the corner, this Avon Liberty Bell Bicentennial Plate is front and center.

The Liberty Bell Plate is sitting on a Staffordshire Liberty Blue dinner plate which I'll feature in another patriotic post.

The Paula Dean white plate has a pretty design and works with the stack of blue and white dishes.

Do you see the small cross-stitched American Flag  design on the right side of the table?  I moved the stemmed goblet so you could see it. This special gift was made by a friend years ago; I am so thankful to have it especially since she told me she isn't doing cross stitch anymore because her eye sights isn't as good as it used to be.

The cross-stitch design and the flag coaster add color and bits of patriotism for this red, white, and blue table.

Thanks for stopping by to see my Red, White, and Blue table on the porch - Judy.

Our Garden Is Growing - Thankful Thursday

We planted a small garden this year and I am thankful the plants are growing.

You can see we did put a fence around the garden to keep those nibbling little guys out.

We have planted tomatoes, cucumbers, red peppers, zucchini, and yellow straight neck squash.

We do work a little each day in the garden, checking the plants, and have been doing some spraying for bugs.

The tomatoes are flowering so that is a great sign, and the cucumbers are growing by leaps and bounds daily.

The garden is close to the back of our property and gets at least 6-8 hours of sun.

Last year, I asked my husband to build a heavy duty trellis for honeysuckle. I wanted it to be rustic so he used some fallen tree limbs and trees for the structure.

We planted one plant last year late in the season. It is just starting to take off along with the two additional new honeysuckle plants.

We do have wild honeysuckle in this area of our property so we should have lots of sweet aroma over time.

I'll keep you posted on our garden this summer. Thanks for stopping by - Judy.
