The bush is a fast grower, one year I cut it way back because it seemed out of control. But it grew back quickly. It is about five feet tall and three or four feet wide.
Do you know if this is spirae? Thanks for your help - Judy.

Yes, Spirea. My childhood home a huge row of them on the property line. Mother called them "Bridal Veil" as the common name, but who knows if that's true! Makes me want to take a drive by our old house when I am in town.

Hi Judy, Your very healthy and gorgeous plant is S. Japonica, or Japanese Spirea. There are two distinct kinds of spirea; the bridal wreath type with arching branches (which is not yours)and the shrubby-lower growing type (which is yours). Gina
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, but I have to share my bush story with you. I had one similar to yours that I named the "prom" bush. It always bloomed at that time of year, so the kids and even my neighbor's daughter had all their pictures taken in front of it. Thanks for the memories.
ReplyDeleteThanks, we had a climbing rose bush that we used to stand out daughter in front of each year for pictures. I love stories like this, thanks for sharing.
DeleteJudy, it looks like what my grandmother would call spirea, but I am certainly no expert!:)
ReplyDeleteHi Judy! Oh, it is a gorgeous bush and blooms. I'm not very good at helping with names. Thanks so much for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
