Happy Independence Day and A Parade

Happy Independence Day from our town to ours. It's the 4th of July and we are celebrating our freedom.

What a way to start the day, a parade through the town square.

The Scouts are honoring our freedom.

Murray is a town of a little less than 20,000 but we know how to celebrate freedom.

Celebrate this great day of independence!! - Judy

Patriotic Porch - Happy Fourth of July

It's the time of year that we celebrate our traditions. We bring out our red, white, and blue and show that we are proud to be Americans.

I'm displaying a small patriotic quilt that I recently made for my front porch.

My begonias are adding to the patriotism with their beautiful red blooms and a small American flag.

The huge macho fern looks fabulous next to the begonias and flag.

My roses to the right of the front porch, are flourishing with beautiful red flowers.

I'm so thankful that my quilt is finished, and my flowers are blooming.

Our back deck is also dressed for the Fourth with an Americana bunting and pots filled with patriotic colors.

I would love to hear how you show your patriotism - Judy.

Show Your Patriotism for the 4th of July

The 4th is just about here and we are ready to celebrate. The fireplace and mantel are dressed in patriotic colors of red, white and blue.

The 4th is always a favorite time to decorate in many of our homes across America.

We can show our patriotism in many ways around the house.

Whether it's your mantel . . .

the entire fireplace . . .

or a vignette in the kitchen. Hope you can spend a few minutes decorating to show your patriotism.

Take care and celebrate with your family and friends. - Judy.

Stars and Stripes Forever - Celebrating Freedom

At our house, we are all about celebrating freedom. Keeping our country free. We believe in the Star and Stripes Forever.

For this special holiday, I have created a patriotic tablescape to celebrate our freedom.

I'm using American flag placemats from Kohl's with a navy and white paisley tablecloth.

My stack of dishes includes red plates, navy blue salad plates, and a red bowl. I love the patriotic napkins (Pottery Barn) folded in half and placed in the bowl.

The red goblets were a gift from my Dad years ago.

Flatware is Laurie Gates by Hampton - Sizzle Ivory.

The centerpiece for the table is a red bowl filled with vining red geraniums.

Antique mercury glass pillar holders from Pottery Barn were added to each end of the geraniums. Then red flameless pillar candles topped each pillar.

In some of my other posts, you have seen how my husband loves to grill. So, of course, he has been busy getting the pork butts ready for our celebration. Ya gotta love a "man who cooks."

One of the desserts we are having are individual mixed berry tarts I made with fresh fruit. I did have whipped topping to add for those who wanted it. I found the dessert on Pinterest here

The heart shaped flag plate is by Peggy Karr Glass.

I hope you enjoy this special day with your family and friends.

Thanks for stopping in as we celebrate freedom - Judy.

Patriotic Recap

It's getting close to July 4th and our minds are turning toward patriotism. I have been looking at my patriotic posts over the last few years and wanted to share a few of my best shots.

Stars and Stripes - Let Freedom Ring was from 2013 and featured these gorgeous Pottery Barn pillows and a trayscape.

Also in 2013, I posted a Patriotic Tablescape for the 4th. In addition to the tablescape, a centerpiece made with pieces from Dollar Tree was featured.

One of my all time favorites was this Independence Day post from 2012 in my dining room.

I hope you are getting your patriotism on and getting ready for the 4th - Judy.
