I am continuing the home tour of my friend, JoAnn. Jo was invited to have her home on the annual Holiday Tour of Homes hosted by the Kappa Department of Murray Woman's Club in Murray, KY. I am featuring her home since she has had zero time to create any posts for her blog.
Today, I am spotlighting her kitchen and keeping room. Sit back and enjoy this stunning room.
The left side of the kitchen features her villages on top of the cabinets. Plus you can see her beautiful white cabinets which were made by a cabinet maker in Chaffee, MO, and delivered to Murray, KY.
Now look to the right side of the kitchen
Today, I am spotlighting her kitchen and keeping room. Sit back and enjoy this stunning room.
I bet you are noticing the coffered ceiling which is painted pewter and the walls are painted berkshire beige.
The Department 56 houses are about 35 years old.
JoAnn has a love for dishes, both casual and elegant. For her casual dishes, she has been collecting several colors of Fiesta and now has added the Fiesta pitchers. On the top shelf you see the 12 Days of Christmas goblets.
A Christmas squirrel sits at the end of the island. the squirrel is from Pier One.
Just past the end of the island, is a round black kitchen table.
The table is set with her Holly Holiday china by Royal.
Jo Ann uses beautiful pieces of silver throughout her kitchen and dining rooms.
Not only can Jo Ann decorate but she sews and has an embroidery machine. She stitched the holly leaf pattern on the white napkins then used sheer napkins from Pier One as a cover. The joy, peace, love and hope napkin rings are from Dillard's.
Just past the kitchen table is the keeping room with a beautiful fireplace and sectional sofa. The snowmen pillows on the sectional are Pottery Barn.
Look at this cute arrangement sitting on the table next to the sectional.
The fireplace has book shelves on each side filled with Christmas decor.
JoAnn made the stockings for the fireplace.
Isn't the pleasant perfect for the mantel!
As you turn to leave the kitchen, you can see the dark chest at the entry with a table top tree.
JoAnn is so talented! She was an art teacher for many years plus she cooks, decorates, sews, and has such an eye for color and design. It's so nice of her and her husband Bill to share their beautiful home with us.
Next, I will feature their office and JoAnn's sewing room. Then the bedrooms.

Thank you for your kind words ! You are a true friend , thanks for sharing my home. Hope to get my blog up and running soon .
ReplyDeleteI know it is OH so wrong to covet, but...! :-) Wow, what a beautiful kitchen. My eyes went first to that gorgeous ceiling, and then to the books on the end cap of the island. There is a TON of space in there, and I'm sure it's easy to just cook at one's leisure. The layout of the kitchen & keeping room is great, and the decorative accoutrements are fantastic!!! Lots of space for lots of fun & pretty details! I really like that mirror over the chest at the opposite end of the kitchen. It adds even MORE depth as well as light!
ReplyDeleteIf Bill & JoAnn are looking to adopt a 50-something woman with a bad back & shoulder as a charity project, I'm all in! :-) :-) :-)
These two rooms are gorgeous! I really like her keeping room. It looks so cozy right off the kitchen! Thanks for sharing it.31
ReplyDeleteEverything is so lovely! Love the kitchen cabinets with the goblets and the Fiesta.
