Just A Little Snow

I made sure to get my feeders filled yesterday in anticipation of the couple inches of early snow last night.

The weather did exactly what the forecast stated so the birds are hungry and looking for food.  I'm seeing lots of yard birds at the feeders like the finches.

The little Downy Woodpecker is up and down the birch tree this morning.

He is visiting the suet feeder too.

The Carolina Chickadee grabs a seed and flies away quickly.

The Northern Cardinal is looking stunning this morning with the sun shining on him.

Hope you are feeding the birds in your area. Enjoy the day - Judy?

  1. The birds were out here in central KY. No school for us today. I have enjoyed being home :)

  2. Judy - It is snowing lightly here, but that does not put off the hordes of chickadees and nuthatches visiting our feeders. Every once in a while a downy will chase someone off the suet! Not seeing many finch-like birds these days … and I certainly miss the Cardinals of my youth! Enjoy the rest of your week!

  4. Great photos! I am seeing many of the same birds at my feeders, but no finches.
Here in north Mississippi we got only a light dusting of snow.

  5. I have a feeder like your yellow one. It works well until the chipmunks climb down to swing on it. I had to take my in because we are going to be away for over a month. Hope the little guys can find enough in the natural surroundings. - Margy
