Hyacinth Macaw at the Nashville Zoo

On a trip to the Nashville Zoo, I captured a few pics of the Hyacinth Macaw. The macaw is such a gorgeous color of cobalt.

The macaw is a parrot native to central and eastern South America. Notice the yellow ring around the eye. It is an endangered species and there are an estimated 2500-5000 Hyacinth macaws left in the wild today.

I am thankful that I went to the zoo with my grandsons. It's always a joy to spend time with them and watch the excitement in their eyes - Judy.
