How about a red and white dinner plate and a bit of whimsy on the porch for lunch.
This 10 inch red transferware dinner plate was made by J&G Meakin, of England and is from their Romantic England Series. The pattern is named Haddon Hall. I found this beautiful plate in an antique shop in Paris, TN.
Adding Lady Liberty with the red transferware plate seems to give the setting a patriotic feel.
Lady Liberty's hand seems to be reaching out to a small vase of flowers from my gardens: red roses, yellow coreopsis, and pink zinnias.
Lady Liberty is about the size of the blue stemmed goblet.
The double napkins for the table are a blue one and a Celebrate napkin placed inside a silver napkin ring.
The fern in the background is a Kimberly Queen.

ReplyDeleteI have a similar china pattern from my mother, Spode Pink Tower. I have a complete set for twelve plus lots of service items. She was great for having parties and loved to decorate a fancy table. I only use them for special occasions, but they are all on display in the china cabinet my father made for her. Both give me lots of good memories. - Margy
