Earth Day and Spring Blooms

In honor of Earth Day, April 22, I'm sharing some blooms from my yard. My Irises have just started blooming this week and I simply love them. Who could resist their dark purple color!

Earth Day is celebrated every April 22 and we celebrate our planet and how to take better care of it.

We have pink dogwood and white dogwood trees in our yard.

Azaleas in my yard are just budding and will soon be in full bloom. The cold weather we have been experiencing had set them back a week or two.

Tulips are just starting to bloom.

Creeping phlox are blooming. They have five-star blooms that can reach an inch across.

I'm planting a Blooming Cherry tree in my yard to celebrate Earth Day this year.

Hope you can plant a tree, or just take time to pick up some trash you see on the street or along the road. Be sure to wear some gloves. Let me know your plans for Earth Day.

Thanks for stopping by for Earth Day - Judy.

The Easter Chefs

My husband and I both enjoy cooking so it's not unusual for us to be in the kitchen together. Here we are on Easter morning cooking together.

We went to early church so we could get home and finish up before our daughter and family came for lunch. When our daughter and family arrived, she wanted to take our picture with the aprons. Maybe we look a little professional in our aprons!

My husband made the rabbit charcuterie board so I'm not saying a word.

I put together a second board with some veggies and dill dip plus black seedless grapes and more strawberries.

He put the ham on before we went to church. All he had to do was slice and plate it before we ate. We did have several side dishes to go with the ham but somehow no pictures were taken of the sides.

Cake, chocolate easter eggs, and fruits with cream cheese dip were the desserts.

My daughter has a friend, Shavonne, here in Murray that is a baker. Shavonne made the carrot cake and the chocolate easter eggs for us.

We did have a fun Easter dinner and our plates were full.

Here is my attempt to get a family picture around the table!  Nothing like my face all up in the picture!

Thanks for stopping by to see The Easter Chefs - Judy.

Tulip Blooms for the Table

Our daughter brought a lovely bouquet of tulips for the Easter table.

I think the tulips are just gorgeous!

There are several varieties of tulips in the bouquet.

The yellow tulip has so many layers of petals.

Look at the ruffled edges of the one in the center.

The tulips were grown in Paducah, Kentucky
by a work friend.

The tulips made a beautiful centerpiece for our Easter table.

Thanks for stopping by to see the tulips on our table - Judy.

I look forward to your comments and appreciate them.

Tea Pots and Rabbits

As we sit down to our table, there are Easter teapots and rabbits as centerpieces. The rabbits are associated with new life, and spring. The Easter teapots bring a special style to the table.

I enjoy bringing out teapots at Easter. Some are whimsical and some are vintage. There is no way to ignore the Easter Bunny at Easter, after all, who else can hide all of those Easter eggs. This Fitz and Floyd Old World Rabbit teapot is gorgeous and was a gift from my husband years ago.

The Bordallo Pinheiro pink bunny teapot is new to my collection. It is so cute with the bunny rabbits and celery design.

Our table is set with more Bordallo dishes. The pink dinner and salad plates are the Ingrid design. The aqua charges are not Bordallo but are made in Portugal.

The third teapot used in the centerpiece is from the geranium pattern.

The flatware is Rogers Bros Daffodil vintage silverplate. It was a gift my Dad gave to my Mom years ago.

There is a small daffodil on the handle of each piece. The daffodil is another sign of Spring and new life.

The tablerunner is so colorful with the rabbits and flowers. It is by Isaac Mizrahi in New York.

Thanks for joining us at our Tea Pots and Rabbits Easter table.

Tell me about your Easter traditions. What is special to you? I appreciate your comments in the comment section. - Judy.

Ladies Luncheon

Our ladies' luncheon was today, and we had a blast!

I was the hostess this month and had been "feathering my nest" for the party.

The table was set and ready for the ladies to arrive. Small Easter milk cartons filled with Easter candy topped each place setting.

In the kitchen, the counter was filled with delicious foods. Each lady brought a dish.

Homemade Pizzelle cookies.

Two charcutier boards, chicken fingers, seven-layer salad, deviled eggs, grape chicken salad, a garden salad, and lots of veggies.

One of the ladies brought the cutest Easter coconut cake topped with an Easter banner.

The dining room was filled with laughter and fun! So much talking, such good friends!

After we ate, we play Mexican train with a twist - chicken leg! Have you played Mexican Train domino game? One of the ladies showed us the Chicken Leg version of Mexican train. Wish I would have taken a pic of us playing.

Thanks for stopping in, your comments are appreciated - Judy
