Welcome to my Mother's Day tablescape. This one got here before I really had a chance to be ready. My daughter is better now after her surgery so then my husband and I went to Illinois to visit my 90-year-old Dad, who is doing great. We are back and needed to get something ready quick. So, take a look:
The flowers were a surprise from my husband who had been in the country and came home with these lovely Wild Phlox. I hadn't planned to use purple flowers in my centerpiece but what can you say to a sweet man who brings you flowers? There are a couple of tiny purple flowers on the vase so it's perfect.
Both of our Mothers have passed away so the vase in the corner with white flowers is to honor them.
The silver plate flatware I am using belonged to my Mother and is 1847 Rogers. It is very special to me so I love sharing it with you.
Look closely and you can see the daffodil on the end of each piece.
I'm sharing a picture of my Mom when she was about 18 years old. I love this picture of her, she had dark brown hair and big beautiful brown eyes. You can see that I don't really look like her, although my sister does. I look more like my Dad with my light hair and eyes. Mom was a very hard-working yet such a loving Mother. She met my Dad shortly after he returned home from WWII. She spent many years of her life working side-by-side with my Dad in their dry cleaning and coin laundry business that they started together.
I have a dessert center set with dessert plates and forks set on the server. The platter, cream and sugar, and canape plate are Fitz and Floyd Woodland Spring pattern.
On the dessert menu, we are having:
Red Velvet Cake
It is my husbands very favorite dessert, so since it is also close to his birthday, I like to treat him with his favorite cake.
Thanks for stopping by to see my Mother's Day tablescape- Judy.

You have to love having a husband thoughtful enough to bring you flowers~ what a gorgeous vase! Happy Mother's Day :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great silverware pattern with the little flower on the end. Your Fitz and Floyd is just lovely and I don't think I've ever seen it in those nice soft colors. Mother Nature mixes all her colors so I think the flowers look great!

Love the flatware, love the vase, love the colors!! Such a pretty table and I agree that the white flowers are so sweet. I remember that people used to wear white or red flowers to church depending on if they still had their mothers or not. Do people still do that? I am not sure. Glad that your daughter is doing well - that is a great Mother's Day gift!
ReplyDeleteJudy your table is beautiful. The flowers from your hubby make it so very special. The vase is gorgeous. I love your stemware and gorgeous daffodil silverware. So lovely!

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I have to mention that your mom's photo lines up with your photo in the sidebar and you look very much like your mom! Your coloring may be different (Robin and I both take after our dad)but your features are very similar!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of your husband to bring you flowers, and they make a wonderful centerpiece for your lovely table! What a treasure you have in that flatware! Have a great Mother's Day!
Hi, Judy! I'm back again! My friend is here helping me to set up an accounting system and we got a little sidetracked looking at BNOTP posts! We're both diggin' on the phlox, and she is going nuts over your blue candles and red velvet cake. I guess our next stop this afternoon is Old Time Pottery in search of blue candles! (She's on her own for the cake!) :-) Forgot to tell you how pretty your Mom is in the photo you posted. She was a real looker!!!!
ReplyDeleteHello Mrs. JB...
ReplyDeleteYou call this quick? This is just an amazing setting. I love every piece, every angle. Red Velvet cake looks so delish and I know, who love it too (my GH of course §;-)
