Patriotic Recap

It's getting close to July 4th and our minds are turning toward patriotism. I have been looking at my patriotic posts over the last few years and wanted to share a few of my best shots.

Stars and Stripes - Let Freedom Ring was from 2013 and featured these gorgeous Pottery Barn pillows and a trayscape.

Also in 2013, I posted a Patriotic Tablescape for the 4th. In addition to the tablescape, a centerpiece made with pieces from Dollar Tree was featured.

One of my all time favorites was this Independence Day post from 2012 in my dining room.

I hope you are getting your patriotism on and getting ready for the 4th - Judy.

Throwback Thursday - Aqua and Orange Tablescape

I was visiting Ann over at Corner of Plaid and Paisley today with her colorful summer tablescape using aqua and orange when it sparked a memory of me doing a post with aqua and orange a while back. Then I was visiting Pat over at Back Porch Musings with her Throwback Thursday and I decided to give Throwback Thursday a try with my aqua and orange post from 2012.

You may know that my favorite color is aqua so I always enjoy mixing other colors with it for a little fun. Here it is, back from 2012.

Take a look:

The aqua chargers came from TJ Maxx.I have used them so many times since 2012. Sometimes I have to remind myself to use other colors besides aqua.

The large square platter also came from TJ Maxx and was the centerpiece for my tablescape. This is how orange entered the picture. I was attracted to the platter and noticed that there was a bit of light blue on the leaves and that was history.

The platter is beautiful with its orange, red, and yellow flowers and then the small amounts of blue on the leaves. It seems hard for your eyes to leave the oranges but when you look closely, you can see the blue on the leaves.

The dinner plates, TJ Maxx, went well with the combination with the colors or aqua, red, orange and yellow.

The double napkins and napkin rings were from Pier One.

Thanks for playing along with my Throwback Thursday - Judy

Welcome to the Beach and a Beachy Tablescape

It's summer! Time to get your swim suit ready, flip flops on and with the blink of an eye and the snap of a finger, you are here.

Tybee Island is just beautiful. If you like relaying by the water, gazing off into the horizon, or walking on the sand, Tybee can be perfect.

Tybee Island, also known as Savannah's Beach, is just 18 miles from Savannah. So it's an easy hop, skip and a jump right into the water.

There are three miles of uninterrupted public beach to enjoy.

After a day at the beach, let's sit down to a beach themed table decked out in blues.

Personal notes can be written to each person on the back of the seahorse card in each plate or the sand dollar card tucked in the napkin. The cards are all stamped with Tim Holtz stamps.

The breadrack is just a little beachy too.

Wow, a day at the beach can be so tiring, take care and good night!

Dish Inspiration from Anthropologie

On a recent trip to Savannah, GA, with dear friends, the girls had a chance to go shopping. We visited a couple of art galleries in the City Market area.  The paintings were beautiful  and a couple of small prints made it home with two of us.  Then we shopped at the Anthropologie shop on Montgomery Street. While one friend was looking at their selection of clothing, I spied their dishes and hurried right over to them. The dishes were casual with beautiful colors and patterns.

This collection is Jardin Des Plantes.

This stoneware is an Anthropologie exclusive by Ronn Hauffmann. You can order them from the shop.

Blue glasses . . .

A collection of white dishes. I believe the collection is called Grace.

Another blue collection - From The Deep.

Love the fish decor. Perfect for a party and some bar ware.

Then the aqua and yellow pieces

and bowls

and towels

We had such a fun trip. It's an annual trip that we take with dear friends for over 35 years. The destination changes each year but the friends are always so special.
