Containers

Do you like to use containers in your designs?

Today, I am sharing a few of my favorite containers and using them in a mantel display.

This lacy container is one of my very favorites, the bouquet looks perfect with its soft pinks and greens. The container and bouquet are  from Michaels.

I tried the bouquet in both sides of the container.

I think I like the bouquet on the left side and very close to the container.

Here's another favorite container I am including in my display.

Looks like I am stuck on lacy containers! This one has a ginger jar shape but still has the lacy look I love. The container is from Home Goods.

The small glass hurricanes on each side of the ginger jar have pebbles and green moss covered balls added. Not exactly what I have in mind.

Bet you are wondering why I have a few lilac flowers beside the ginger jar?

Here's why, I am adding a wreath to this small grouping. It took a little rearranging and some tweaking but I think I have what I am looking for.

I moved the glass hurricanes over to the left, then took the elements out of one and placed them on the mantel. I think I like this better.

Surprise but my last container isn't lacy! It's a white Fiesta vase with two green stemmed bushes added! This picture was taken before my final tweaking but worth sharing so you get the before and after effect.

After the final tweaking, I like it even more with the natural elements resting on the mantel!

The mantel is complete, I am ready to show you all the elements together.

Thanks for stopping in to see my Containers - Judy.

Broccoli Rabe Pizza

Do you like pizza?

If you are like so many of us, we love pizza just about anytime.

I'm sharing pizza that my SIL made the other evening. This Broccoli Rabe Pizza was so tasty. He is such a good cook and was willing to let me take pictures of his pizza.

Although I didn't get his exact recipe, I know he used broccoli raab, garlic, red pepper pesto, chili flakes and goat cheese.

I'm sharing a link for several Broccoli Rabe Pizza recipes. Click here.

Now let's cut the pizza

and plate it with a little Organic Baby Romaine..

Thanks for stopping by - Judy.

Valentine Sweets

I have been thinking about sweets for a Valentine's Day party. So today, I am sharing a few possibilities to see what you think.

How about serving:

Raspberry Mousse in a white chocolate cup topped with two pieces of rolled white chocolate shavings finished with a chocolate heart and heart confetti.

Maybe Red Velvet Cupcakes garnished with red velvet cake bits, swirled with cream cheese icing and a dollop of chocolate icing and a white chocolate heart.

A chocolate cupcake with pink and red swirled icing topped with a chocolate heart and heart confetti.

Or even Cookie Monster cookies for little ones.

Now, how could we serve all of these goodies?

How about on something red, like a Bordallo Pinheiro Red Hearts Pedestal Cake Plate and red heart dessert plates?

I love the red hearts on the cake stand, such detail!

How about a little decor for the table?

A white lacy jar topped with Valentine ribbons.

Two love birds and red hearts could be perfect for the occasion!

Heart boxes for small gifts.

Lenox Eternal Gold flatware and red hearts sprinkled around the table.

Wow, I think this could work for a party!

Now what you do think about the sweet eats and the decor?

Thanks for stopping by - Judy.

Winter Blue Mix

The weather man is calling for a winter mix in the forecast today for my area of Missouri. With this in mind, I am using blues and whites for my tablescape.

With snow on its way, I am using my white snowflake napkin rings.

My tablescape is pretty inexpensive, with several of the elements coming from the Dollar Tree (white plates, and blue water goblets).
The blue candle holder, white votive candles, and smaller blue glasses are from Home Goods.
The blue placemats are TJ Maxx.
The flatware was a wedding gift from my Grandmother.
The tablecloth was purchased from eBay and not too pricey.

A few tulips in a blue vase should help me get through a snowfall.

I do think snow is so beautiful and so much fun for my grandsons to play and throw snowballs. But it's the driving in the car and trying to get around that makes it a little  scary. Take care - Judy.
