The Colors of Fall

I hope you have been enjoying the colors of Fall. The yellows, reds, oranges, and green have been so vibrant in my area. Many of these leaves have fallen so my tablescape today reflects these wonderful colors; for most of us, they are such a welcome and so relaxing to look at. When those breezy days of Fall put a chill in the air, it's a bowl of soup that warm the body.  A favorite Fall soup tureen serves as my centerpiece. Take a look:

Do you have a favorite soup to serve in your tureen?

My favorite soup is always tomato basil.

To accent my tureen, I am using an assembly of fall colors for my stack of dishes.

Brown plates with two sizes of Fall leaf plates, all sitting on yellow placemats.

A smaller yellow leaf accent plate along with beige cloth napkins and brown wooden napkin rings bring more fall colors to the table.

Amber stemmed goblets bring another fall color.

Elevating the tureen allows for additional fall elements to be added beneath. Pumpkins, gourds, berries, and leaves. All part of the fall harvest and landscape.

Fall colored votive candles.

Oh for the love of Fall colors.

Thanks for stopping by to share The Colors of Fall - Judy.

Eating Crow

Could you do it?

Could you eat a little crow?

Could you eat a little crow to save a friendship?

....it might be your best friend

.... it might be your spouse

... it might be your son or daughter

You could eat it slowly.

Or hash it over and over.

It's not hard to do.

I've had to do it a few times myself.

Don't think about the terrible taste it will leave in your mouth.

It will make you ever so humble.

Oh,  just swallow it quickly.

Then it will be over.

Fall Cloche

I have been visiting my daughter and she gave me the OK to get her dining room table ready for Fall. She works many hours a week so she is sweet enough to let me just "have at it." Since she has been using burlap on her table for a while I went with it and just added Fall elements.

The idea came from a cloche arrangement I saw at Nell Hill's in Kansas City. We always love everything that Mary Carroll puts together. That made it real easy, just a shopping trip to Nell Hill's!

The bell jar is large about 15-18 inches tall and filled with pumpkins. I used a glass serving piece as a base.

Then placed it on a pedestal sitting on top of a mirrored glass frame. I angled the camera a little so you can see the pedestal. A berry wreath was added around the bell jar.

Now for the rest of the table . . .

I arranged a mix of Fall leaves, pumpkins, gourds, and some gorgeous Mercury glass candlesticks, pumpkins and pheasants. The Mercury glass elements also came from Nell Hill's.

I think this table is going to carry her right into Thanksgiving. Thanks for stopping by - Judy.
