Awesome Alaska

We recently returned from Alaska where everyday we saw awesome sights. I thought you might be wowed by some of my pictures. Enjoy.

The flowers in Anchorage were just beautiful, although their growing season is short, their days are very long and the colors of the flowers are vibrant.
Here's a close up of those flowers. I saw lots of begonia in the bunch.
A relaxing ride on the train to Denali National Park.

Next was Mount McKinley, where nature was at its finest. It was magnificent.

A motor home trip to Seward, Alaska.

Next is a six hour boat trip to the Fjords National Park where we took this shot of a glacier.

We saw sea lions on the rocks. Check out the seal lion with the number markings.

Hope you are wowed by a few of my Alaska pictures. Thanks for stopping by!

Mount McKinley

My family just returned from Alaska where we have a rare opportunity to see Mt. McKinley on a clear day. Oh my, it was just fabulous; you don't realize the vastness of the mountain until you see it in person.

Most days the mountain is covered with clouds and the viewing isn't always very good and that's the way it was on the day we went on the shuttle to try to get a close look at the mountain. Then on our return trip on the train from Denali National Park, it was a clear day and very little cloud cover. It was awesome, turn after turn on the train we had fabulous views of Mt. McKinley and it were, indeed, in awe of Mt. McKinley.

Fall Luncheon

Fall will soon be here and I wanted to share my Fall table setting with you. It's always fun getting ready for Fall, with those brilliant colors of red, orange, yellow, and green, It gives me such a warm feeling. My kitchen table is a round glass-top, it takes a lot of Windex to keep it clean but I always enjoy family and friends around the table.

You can see my mother-in-law plant in the corner, I have had it for such a long time. I just keep repotting it and it keeps growing and even has tiny white blooms once in a while.

The bowl in the center of the table is by Peggy Karr, who is one of my favorite American artists.

The wreath above my bread rack was designed by a local designer at the Yandee Peddler shop in Osage Beach, Missouri. Although I don't live there, I always enjoy a shopping trip to Osage Beach.

The three towels were embroidered by my close friend, JoAnn, she is so talented. Thanks again JoAnn.

The plate sitting on the bread rack is the same leaf pattern by Peggy Karr as the bowl in the center of the table. I added a tray that I bought several years ago from Southern Living as a backdrop. Then added a green napkin for grounding the vingette and finally added a piece of Fitz and Floyd.

It's time to get ready for a Fall luncheon with friends or family. Thanks for stopping by.

Dinner plates were purchased from Walmart.
Leaf plates were purchased from Harry & David

Growing in My Yard

What Are They?
Below are two flowering plants that grow in my yard. Do you know what each is? Let's see how many people get it correct. Thanks for stopping by.
